Gophers, Greyhounds, Houses!

School is kicking my butt. Correction: school/work/research/extracurriculars are kicking my butt. So the Bike & Build preparations have slowed to a near halt. But exciting news related to affordable housing--I can't wait for Spring Break!!!

In one week from Saturday, I will drive up to the Panhandle to do some gopher trapping. (research project). Depending on how successful the trip is, I will either meet up with my friends from UF Habitat as they drive through the Panhandle, or catch a Greyhound bus later to meet up with them in Biloxi, Mississippi.

We're spending the week doing the Collegiate Challenge--10 of us will build all week with a Habitat affiliate in New Orleans; 7 of us will build all week with Habitat in Biloxi. This will be my second Collegiate Challenge in the Gulf Coast region in less than a year. The first trip was amazing, and I'm so glad I have this to look forward to. UF Habitat rocks my socks, so check us out! www.ufhabitat.org

Now back to haciendo mi tarea, studying Biochemistry, and writing reports about anoles!

Primero

Well, I've been planning to start a blog since October... and here it is only 4 months later! I will try my best to update often with my Bike & Build news.

My bike arrived on Thursday and it is amazing. I am still getting over the fact that it has pink flowers on it. (This is an issue I've struggled with a lot over the years... Just because I'm a girl doesn't mean I want flowers on everything I own.) I've ordered shoes and once they come in I'll buy pedals and start learning how to clip in and out without falling over. I now have 3 bikes sitting in my room... It's a beautiful sight!
